Brazil is a country with many cultures, ethnicities, and cuisines. For this reason, there are many different dishes to try in Brazil.

Brazilian cuisine is characterized by its variety of flavours due to the country’s mix of people. The cuisine has influences from European, African, Amerindian, Asian, and Middle Eastern cultures. Brazilian food consists of various meats like lamb or beef, vegetables like tomatoes or beans, fruits like mangoes or bananas.

Coxinhas are a Brazilian dish and one of the most famous and delicious dishes of this country. It’s said they were first made in San Paulo, but there are also some theories that say they were invented by African slaves. 

They are usually served for breakfast or as a snack during parties or gatherings. These traditional Brazilian food became popular outside the country when the population immigrated to different countries.

Everyone loves coxinhas because they’re easy to prepare, they’re very light but at the same time very filling in comparison to other pastry dishes in Brazil. They are also popular in Portugal. 

Coxinha is a street food bite based on chicken and reminiscent of a thigh with its pyramidal and slightly elongated shape. On the outside, it is crunchy and golden because it is fried.

Coxinha is one of the most popular street foods in Brazil. These little bites are made from chicken, which is chopped up and mixed with other ingredients like cheese, onions, garlic, and eggs. The mixture is then wrapped in dough and fried until it is crunchy on the outside and warm on the inside.

This appetizer is based on meat of chicken, flour of wheat and water and provides that the frayed or minced meat is placed in the centre of a sheet of pasta based on chicken broth. Inside, it may also contain a filling of cream cheese and vegetables. Subsequently, it is covered with breadcrumbs and fried in boiling oil.

 

How to prepare it

It’s actually quite easy to make it at home. The coxinha is prepared by making a pastry  with chicken broth, milk, butter, flour and eggs.
