The London Marathon had always been held in April, but with the pandemic was moved to October and in 2022 will be in October, October 2nd to be exact. Held annually since 1981 on fairly flat ground. The marathon will start in Blackheath and pass through Greenwich, Tower Bridge and finish at The Mall near Buckingham Palace. It is one of the six largest marathons in the world.
For the 2022 they will be initially permitted 50 thousand participants and anyone can actually register even if given the large number you have to participate in a ballot. To do this you must register now here if you live in the UK, and here if you live abroad . registrations close on 8 October 2021.
The cost to participate is £ 49 for those living in the UK and £ 99 for those living abroad. You don’t pay until you are selected and you accept the place. If you are not selected in the ballot, there is always the opportunity to take part through the charities that have a number of places for runners in the marathon to raise money. So in this case you will have to ask friends and colleagues to sponsor you.
